Save $25 on these new, Yoshimitsu knives. They gave us some factory seconds that have scratches on the blade. Otherwise they're ready to use.
The new Fugen line of kitchen knives is crafted exclusively for us by Yoshimitsu, a renowned blacksmith shop based in Nagasaki, Japan. These knives are designed for both home cooks and professional chefs seeking solid performance and durability—without breaking the bank.
We selected White #1 carbon steel for the core, known for its resilience and ability to take a razor-sharp edge with ease. It's a favorite among sharpeners for its balance of toughness, edge retention, and sharpening ease. The blade features a san-mai construction, with a soft iron cladding over the core and a polished hairline finish that enhances both aesthetics and corrosion resistance while showcasing refined craftsmanship.
This 170mm bunka is compact and versatile—ideal for a wide range of kitchen tasks. With a generous 44mm blade height, it offers excellent knuckle clearance and control, especially for those with smaller hands or limited workspace. The edge is ground with a 50/50 bevel, making it suitable for both right- and left-handed users.
The knife is fitted with a simple, elegant octagonal oak handle paired with a black pakkawood ferrule—lightweight, comfortable, and built for daily use.
