MAC Knives
MAC Knife Inc. has been making knives in Seki City, Japan, since 1964, and the brand built its reputation in professional kitchens before Japanese knives became mainstream in the West. The formula is proprietary chrome-molybdenum-vanadium steel hardened to approximately 59-61 HRC - harder than most German stainless, capable of a finer and more acute edge, and durable enough for daily professional use without brittleness. Three main series cover the range at CKTG: the Superior series for reliable everyday performance, the Professional series for cooks who want a thinner grind and more refined fit and finish, and specialty knives including bread knives and the Mighty series of larger blades for high-volume butchery and prep work. All MAC knives are made in Japan and carry a 25-year warranty against defects in materials and workmanship.
