We are thrilled to add these stunningly beautiful knives to our store. The attributes that people associate with the Konosuke brand are fully on show with these gorgeous knives!
SKD steel has a fine structure and good distribution of the elements, which in turn makes it possible to add more alloy elements than in other stainless steels. The result is an increase in hardness and a more impressive cutting characteristic. SKD steel is slightly harder than SG2 steel but because of the lower chrome content, it is less rust-resistant too. Combine this great alloy with an outer stainless jigane that has been treated to a wonderful tsuchime kurouchi finish and you have a knife that will last for generations and looks as good as it did out of the box!
We cannot over-emphasize the outstanding levels of fit and finish that are displayed here. The grinds and profile are perfect. The finish of the spine, choil, and neck are about as good as they come. The Khii Laurel handle is a wonder to look at and hold.Maker: Konosuke

As usual Konosuke doesn't disappoint with this beauty. Fit and finish are flawless, and it has to be the best looking stock knives I ever got.
With a continuous distal taper, thin tip and all of the refinements you would expect from a knife in this price range it's the complete package.
But does it cut? I would say its among if not the sharpest oob edge I have ever gotten. The edge and cladding act like stainless with no patina. The hammered finish is described as Kurouchi (black) however i see it as a more attractive gun metal gray color. If you are looking for great appeal and cutting ability in a high end chefs knife, this might be your new favorite.
