This is such a top notch quality end grain walnut cutting board. everything is so well cut. It's a bliss to use your knife on it. The color of the board is very homogeneous and quite dark which is awesome.
I don't think you can beat this price for that quality

Really sucks up the oil, so plan to have lot of mineral oil for the first month (8 oz is enough, 16 is probably best). Great board though, and goes really well with my new Masakage Shimo.

Well, definitely the best cutting board I've purchased. I've had bigger, smaller, but none this versatile. I love how it has a satisfying weight to it, enough that you know it will not warp, but it's not so heavy that your arms scream at you while you wash it. I oiled it daily for a week before use, as instructed. If anything I wish i used more oil in the first few days, it's thirsty for sure. I have yet to get to the point where water is actually beading up on it but I think it will come soon with more oiling, as water is not quite soaking in either. Mine was definitely darker than the ones pictured, just as a heads up. Personally I think it looks even better than the one pictured and makes your colorful ingredients really pop out at you! Amazing board.

Nice board and cost less from CKTG than direct from the manufacturer. I bought a gallon of food grade mineral oil and applied it for the recommended seven days in a row prior to using it. It can really soak up some oil. On the 8th day, I got some beeswax from my friend's hive and did a 50/50 mix of the wax and mineral oil. Juices really bead up on it now. I like that it's thick enough that I keep it standing on it's side on my counter when not in use.

Being a walnut grower had to have one of these. It arrived lickety split just like normal CKTG stuff does. This one was very dark, close to ebony which will not show stains. Its nice and thick and should last forever. What would i suggest? It arrives with a small piece of paper saying that it should be seasoned before use, which meant oiling the board once a day for a week. It mentioned food grade mineral oil but after looking online, CKTG has a small container which would ship separately but i found the popular brand was Howard Butcher Block Conditioner (12oz) which i got at Home Depot for about 9 bucks, and should be available at many larger chains. This stuff worked great and i used it on my knife handles also.
