This lapping plate is made to flatten whetstones ranging from 400 grit to 30,000 grit. It is made to flatten even the hardest ceramic stones.

The NL-6's surface is a series of raised diamond-coated structures. It is the edges of these raised diamond structures that are doing the heavy work. This plate is intended for ceramic water stones.Dimension : 80 mm X 240 mm

This lapping plate is 2 or 3 steps up from others that I have used. It is also more expensive, however, I look on this as a lifetime investment to keep my stones (predominantly water stones Shapton and others) in top notch shape. The flatter the stones, the better edge on my knives. This plate does not disappoint and is well worth the investment.

All of my natural and synthetic stones are now flatter then they have ever been before. This lapping plate does exactly what it is supposed to. It does it well, and it does it quickly. Worth every penny.

I got this to flatten my natural stones. It works awesome. Although it is a pretty fine grit plate the shapes on the face of the plate help it cut quick to lap the surface and bevel the edges on my stones. Raises a nice slurry on finer, hard naturals. Well worth the investment.
