The Atoma is great for quick metal removal and also used for flattening sharpening stones. This item is the top pad only without the aluminum base. You can choose the grit you want using the drop down box near the order button.
The Atoma Diamond Plate line is one of our most popular alternatives to water stones among our sharpening aficionados. The diamonds are arranged on the pad in a dot matrix pattern, allowing for a much more consistent and even scratch pattern on the knife edge. The diamond plates are an excellent alternative to powered devices such as grinding wheels or sanding belts, due to the reduced heat build-up. The layout of the diamonds keeps the plate from sticking to the stone during the flattening process.
Size - 210mm x 75mm x 1mm

So if you already are using an atoma plate you can just get one of these and adhere it to the backside so you end up with a double plate that takes up less room! Just remember to clean the plate with 90 plus % alcohol before you apply. Also putting it with the plate on edge on something flat to get it flush before the adhesive touches is recommended ... The adhesive is very aggressive!Saves money and makes the sharpening area more tidy.. I'm in for that! And good god... One more time ... The "get the stuff to the customer dept." is is knocking it out of the park!
