Hailing from Aomori, in the northern region of Japan, Mr. Yoshizawa is a master blacksmith who produces exquisite knives under the Nigara brand. In the early Edo Period, Hirosaki was a renowned castle town, bustling with over a hundred blacksmith shops. Of these, Nigara Forging emerged as a distinguished Tsugaru blacksmith shop. Throughout the centuries, Nigara has diligently upheld traditional forging techniques and continues to pledge its commitment to the production of high-quality, hand-forged blades.
They call this a 240mm suji but it's edge length is 228mm.
