After trying most of the common types of strops (bovine leather, balsa wood, newspaper, denim) I have settled on these as my favorites. They're inexpensive and very effective, especially when loaded with diamond spray. You can get a mirror polish in a very short amount of time with a loaded denim strop. They do a great job of removing any small remaining burr without introducing a new one. The convenience of magnetic backing is very nice when you have multiple strops loaded with different compounds.
My only complaint is that I wish the "grain" of the denim wasn't so close to a 45 degree angle, which is the angle I naturally want to strop at. If the blade angle matches the denim grain angle it can cause the stropping to feel bumpy as the blade drops into each ridge. If the grain of the denim ran along the length of the strop instead, this would never happen.
