Here are details regarding the temple nails. The nails come from a 1300 years old temple called Suo Kokubunji, and is designated as a Nationally important cultural asset.
It was built on order from the emperor in times of war, natural calamities and plague in order to protect from calamity and pray for peace. The nails were saved during a major restoration.
The ancient tamahagane nails were produced behind the temple. And with its important role of connecting the joints in the temple structure, I thought it is an appropriate object for a talisman knife.
I hope you appreciate it.
