When you start getting into really fine finishing stones become prohibitively expensive. The Chefknivestogo Diamond Paste 3 Micron will give you great results when just a small amount is applied to your leather or balsa strop. Quick and easy and very effective. Give it a try.

I purchased the 3, 1, .5, .75, .25, then a set (that came with two leather strops, 1 micron and .5 micron and a base) for my partner for the chef knife I got her for her birthday. I see raving comments for this and the spray, and I'm very hesitant to try the spray. This isn't the first paste I've bought, or diamond, or cbn for that matter, emulsion, paste or spray, I've owned. But it is the first to make me work incredibly hard, with a few different kinds of leather; dry, water, oil; research, to still end up with very little results. I've tried VG-10, S30V, S35V. 20CV, M390, LC200N, Maxamet, and other steels and this just never seems to do much. No matter what the Micron, method, or progression. I'm sure my technique is adequate enough because I have some solid mirror finishes that are screaming sharp, done by hand on my more display knives. If someone knows something I don't, please clue me. If everyone thinks they're commenting on the spray, not paste, please, clue me in. Otherwise I have to say, you get what you pay for, I guess. It really is too good to be true.

This paste is simply amazing, I performed a bevel set on a 100 year old Wiss straight razor, 1k - 3k - 5k stones and I than used 3um paste , 1um paste and I was able to shave both my head and than my face and it was a smooth shave very comfortable no irritation at all, and the bevel has a mirror like shine to it, thanks for the amazing price I'll be back to pick up the rest of your diamond matrix products.
